How Trivonix Delivers a Project, Stage by Stage

Six stages, run in the same order on every project from a single rooftop to a multi-site charging network. The order is not a formality — each stage exists to stop a specific kind of failure, and removing one relocates the risk rather than removing it.

Discovery and site survey

Replace assumptions with verified facts

Every project starts on site. We measure what is there, photograph what matters, and verify existing electrical infrastructure rather than trusting drawings — because on operating sites, as-built records are frequently years out of date. Where the project involves generation or charging, we also collect twelve months of interval consumption data, since the load profile determines the correct size of almost everything that follows.

What you receive

  • Survey report with measured dimensions, photographs and site constraints
  • Verified record of existing electrical infrastructure and available capacity
  • Shading, structural or geotechnical assessment appropriate to the project type
  • Load profile analysis where generation or charging is in scope

Feasibility and concept design

Answer whether the project should proceed at all

Concept design tests the project against its real constraints: technical capacity, approval pathway, grid or supply availability, and commercial return. This is the cheapest point at which a project can be stopped or redirected, and stopping one here is a good outcome — a study that identifies a fatal constraint costs a fraction of the project it prevents.

What you receive

  • Indicative capacity, generation or performance modelling
  • Approval pathway with likely lead times identified
  • Grid or supply capacity assessment and upgrade cost where required
  • Capital and operating cost estimate to a stated accuracy band
  • Risk register with a clear recommendation, including where that is not to proceed

Detailed engineering

Produce documentation someone can build from

Detailed design turns the concept into a construction document set: every calculation performed and retained, every cable sized, every schematic drawn, every clearance checked. Constructability is assessed alongside correctness — a design that is technically right but cannot be installed with the available access is not finished.

What you receive

  • Load, cable sizing, fault level, protection and earthing calculations
  • Single line diagrams, protection schematics and control schematics
  • Layout, containment, trench and foundation drawings
  • Cable schedules, equipment schedules and technical specifications
  • Issued-for-construction drawing set with explicit revision control

Procurement

Buy against the engineering, not the brochure

Equipment is specified from the design, vendors are evaluated against that specification, and compliance is documented before purchase orders are placed. Delivery is sequenced against the construction programme so material arrives in build order — site storage of high-value, weather-sensitive equipment is a risk, not a convenience.

Construction and installation

Build to written methods with records captured live

Work packages run to written method statements with defined quality hold points — stages where work stops for inspection before it is covered or energised. Torque values, test results and photographic records of concealed work are captured on the day and referenced to the drawing and location, rather than reconstructed at handover.

  • Quality hold point inspections signed off before cover-up or energisation
  • Live quality records: torque values, cable tests, earth measurements, photographs

Commissioning and handover

Prove it, document it, and hand over a baseline

Commissioning is programmed and resourced as its own workstream. Pre-commissioning proves the installation is safe to energise; functional testing proves it works as designed; performance demonstration proves it meets the contracted parameters under valid test conditions. The resulting test pack becomes the asset's reference for its entire life.

What you receive

  • Pre-commissioning records: insulation, continuity, earthing, protection checks
  • Functional and system test results with measured values and test conditions
  • Performance demonstration under defined, valid conditions
  • As-built drawings reconciled against the test records
  • O&M manuals, warranty documentation, spares list and operator training

What we ask of you

Projects slip for a small number of recurring reasons, and several of them sit on the client side. Naming them at kick-off is considerably cheaper than discovering them at week ten.

  • Site access on the agreed dates, including access to occupied or restricted areas.
  • Twelve months of interval consumption data where generation or charging is in scope.
  • Existing electrical drawings and records, however incomplete — we will verify them, but a starting point saves survey time.
  • A named decision-maker who can approve design releases without a committee cycle.
  • Early notice of shutdown windows, production constraints and site rules.
  • Changes raised through the variation process rather than agreed verbally on site.

We issue an information required schedule at kick-off listing every item and the date it is needed, so nothing becomes a surprise dependency mid-programme.

Questions about how we work

Can stages be skipped to save time?

They can be compressed, and occasionally a client's timeline requires it. What we will not do is skip a stage without saying what risk that creates. Most stages exist to stop a specific failure mode — the survey stops designing against wrong assumptions, commissioning stops handing over an unproven asset — so removing one moves the risk rather than eliminating it.

How long does the whole process take?

The engineering and construction stages scale fairly predictably with project size. The unpredictable elements sit outside our control: utility approvals, grid connection studies and statutory permissions. We lodge those applications at the earliest technically possible date and run design and procurement in parallel, which is the main lever available on total duration.

What do I need to provide as the client?

Site access, twelve months of electricity consumption data where the project involves generation or charging, existing electrical drawings if they exist, and a named decision-maker who can approve design releases. We issue an information required schedule at kick-off with dates, because late client information is one of the most common causes of programme slip.

How are changes handled once construction starts?

Through a written variation process where every change is priced and programmed before it is executed. Verbal changes agreed on site and reconciled later are how projects end in dispute — and how as-built records stop matching what was actually installed.

What do I receive at handover?

As-built drawings, the commissioning test pack with measured values and calibration references, protection settings as applied, operation and maintenance manuals, warranty documentation with claim procedures, a spares list, and operator training. Handover is not complete until that set is issued and accepted.
